When Bora was sixteen, he received an irresistible call from the world of music. He knew right then that he wanted to commit his life to exploring the different realms of sound and frequency. At age seventeen he was awarded a prestigious scholarship to the Rotterdam Conservatoire of Music. Following his jazz education in Holland, he returned to Turkey to lead the four-piece funk and soul band Kangroove to fame in a music scene unaccustomed to this genre. Kangroove became a worldwide phenomenon touring a number of major festivals and opening for world renowned acts such as The Black Eyed Peas, James Brown and The Cardigans.

During his career he has resided in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, London, Hamburg and Stockholm producing and performing music. In 2002 he secured a publishing deal with EMI Germany for Europe and then with EMI North America for the rest of the world. Following that he accepted a deal offered by Songphonic Records in the UK and toured the UK in 2005 as a support act for Beverly Night.

In 2009, he went on to release his solo project entitled B1 with Doublemoon Productions. Four singles from this album made the top 100 radio charts. This led him to be appointed by Nike as the “Icon of the City: Istanbul”.

Bora’s compositions and productions have been featured on releases with many legendary musicians such as MFO (over 1 million sold), Kenan Dogulu (over 1 million sold), Ozan Dogulu, Mazhar Alanson, Emre Altug, Hande Yener and Athena to name just a few. And in 2010 he was chosen as the voice of the ice cream brand Algida (known as "Wall's" in the USA). He wrote and produced their campaign song Firil Firil.

In 2012 he moved to Sweden and was noticed by 3 time Grammy Award winner Wyclef Jean while on his Sweden tour. He featured in Wyclef Jean’s single ‘April Showers’ as Bora aka B1. In 2014 Bora worked with acclaimed American artist Stimulus. Their single ‘Analog People’ attracted both national and international interest from major labels. In 2015 he shared stage with Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman performing a surprise duet of two songs for Jackman’s stage show “An Evening with Hugh Jackman”.

Today, Bora is a partner at Altona Studios based in Tulum, Mexico.
